John is an experienced project manager, operational process re-design architect and skilled facilitator with demonstrated success in developing and implementing innovative operational effectiveness strategies resulting in organizational process improvement and net cost savings valuing up to $20M. His background in management consulting is vast, having managed a number of large-scale contracts and client engagements for multi-billion dollar corporations during periods of dramatic growth, right-sizing and internal leadership change.
He is a recognized leader and trusted advisor to many business and church leaders and has extensive expertise in non-profit management, faith-based leadership, and governance. Prior to starting Trilogy Management Group, Mr. Harvell served as the Director in the Officer of Institutional Effectiveness for Howard University. In this capacity, he was responsible for directing a portfolio of strategic initiatives that yielded $1.5 million in cost savings/avoidance in its first year of implementation.
Mr. Harvell is also a licensed minister and currently serves as the International Director of Administration for the Mt. Calvary Holy Church of America, Inc. (MCHCA), where he has broad oversight and responsibility for the growth and development of administrative infrastructure systems throughout the MCHCA assemblies across the United States and abroad. He serves on the Board of Directors of Hope XPress, Inc., a non-profit organization with the mandate and mission to provide aid and empowerment to rural at-risk youth. He enjoys volunteering and giving back to his community through various mentoring activities afforded to him through church; Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scout); and his fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
A native of Carson, Virginia Mr. Harvell, is a product of the Dinwiddie County Public School System and received his foundational spiritual training at Little Zion Baptist Church. He is a graduate of The University of Virginia and Calvary Bible Institute, of which he currently serves on the Board of Directors. Additionally, he has studied Church Administration and Leadership at the Howard University School of Divinity and Howard Business School.
